Cambridge Examination 28 course (mornings and afternoons)

These structured examination courses consist of 28 lessons of morning and afternoon classes each week. They prepare you for onCambridge university examination course students study at Studio Cambridge langauge schoole of the following Cambridge University Examination Certificates:

  • FCE - First Certificate in English
  • CAE - Certificate in Advanced English

The Cambridge examinations are among the most widely recognised English Language Tests in the world. They are set by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). For more information, visit http://www.cambridge-efl.org.uk. The examinations are held in Cambridge at the end of your course. If you wish to take the examination, we will help you apply.

FCE - First Certificate in English  

This qualification is at the Upper Intermediate English level and success indicates a good working knowledge of English (Studio level 5 - equivalent to IELTS 5.5). You will need to be at least at the Intermediate level (Studio level 4 - equivalent to IELTS 4.5) to start this course.

CAE - Certificate in Advanced English

This qualification is at the Advanced English level (Studio level 6 - equivalent to IELTS 6.5). You will need to be at least at the Upper Intermediate level (Studio level 5 - equivalent to IELTS 5.5) to start this course.

All students will be assigned their own personal teacher. This teacher will be available to you in a tutorial after class hours, for discussion of your progress, evaluation of your English language strengths and weaknesses, and to give advice with self-study. Your teacher is there to ensure that you are satisfied with all academic aspects of your course and are progressing well.

The Cambridge Examamination courses are structured and demanding. In addition to the 28 lessons, a lot of self-study, using our Learning Centre, and homework is required.  During your first week, students will be instructed to buy course books for their chosen examination course, at an estimated cost of 45 GBP in total.
