CELTA Courses at Studio Cambridge

CELTA student comments

Comments from Irina Zykova, CELTA graduate:

"CELTA with Studio Cambridge is one of the best learning and one of the most exciting teaching experiences I've ever had! Despite the fact that I had been teaching English for several years before I took the course I found it extremely useful for developing quite new teaching skills and adopting/mastering a new - very practical and effective - approach to teaching English. It's a very student-centered approach which helps you get away from a traditional teaching role.

I believe that the CELTA course was successful mainly due to our tutors. Extremely professional and competent, very tactful and supportive, the tutors provided a whole range of useful ideas, tools and materials to teach effectively. They gave constructive criticism and delivered feedback in a very positive manner. This contributed a lot to creating an extremely welcoming and friendly atmosphere on the course which, as a result, led to creating a very pleasant and highly productive working environment.

From the very first day it was obvious that the whole course was very well planned and very well organised. There was a very good balance between the input sessions in the morning and the practical (teaching) ones in the afternoon. The input sessions provided a good model of teaching ideas as well as a deeper insight into various aspects of the English language. This helped a lot to develop both our teaching skills and our language confidence which are two the most relevant things in the profession in question. They provide you with a feeling of ‘safety' in the classroom. In the afternoon we had a great opportunity to put all our ‘newly assimilated' knowledge into practice straight away. I think that such a well balanced ‘learning-teaching' approach can't but show excellent results.

I'd like to emphasize that the course was very informative, practical and useful. Doing the CELTA course at Studio Cambridge is an unforgettable experience for me."

"An unforgettable experience that gave us not only new tools to deal with the different skills, but a wider view of teaching."

"Besides learning all sorts of new things, I felt respected and valued as a student, as a person and as a teacher. Excellent!"
