IELTS English language examinations
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination is used to assess language ability by many universities in the UK and around the world. It measures your ability to communicate in English across all four language skills, so it can be taken by anyone who intends to study or work where English is the language of communication.
You can prepare for the IELTS examination in 2 ways at Studio Cambridge
- By joining our IELTS-28 examination course which runs between March and October
- By taking IELTS preparation as an afternoon option as part of our EFL-28 English course
The IELTS-28 course is this is ideal preparation for the IELTS exam, and it has proven to be very effective, Each course lasts for 6 weeks and consists of 28 classroom lessons (21 hours) per week. All 168 lessons of this course concentrate exclusively on preparation for the examination. For this reason, it is recommended only for those students planning on taking the IELTS.
If you wish to study longer than 6 weeks, you can combine two IELTS Examination courses (for a total of 12 weeks) or you can start your studies with our Intensive English Course EFL-28, with Option Four (Academic English) and then transfer to the IELTS Examination course at the appropriate time.
This course is designed for people who require an IELTS score of at least 5.5. The average IELTS requirements range from 5.5 to 6.5 or more. However the course is also suitable for students aiming to score 7.0 or higher.
All students attending the IELTS course will be assigned their own personal teacher. This teacher will be available to you in tutorials after class hours, for discussion of your progress, evaluation of your English langauge strengths and weaknesses, and to give advice with self-study. Your teacher is there to ensure that you are satisfied with all academic aspects of your course and are progressing well.
The IELTS English examination
