The Studio Cambridge IELTS examination syllabus

EFL student learning English on overseas langauge course at Studio Cambridge

Our IELTS Courses follow a highly structured syllabus. All 168 lessons of the 6week course concentrate exclusively on ensuring your success in the examination. 

The courses include:

  • Describing graphs and diagrams
  • Planning, organising and writing essays
  • Question formats which are particular to IELTS
  • Understanding scientific texts
  • Speaking task 2: preparation and delivery of a two-minute monologue
  • Additional homework and private study
  • Exam practice, including a full mock test to highlight individual students' weaknesses

CDs: Students do listening tasks with a tape or CD - once a day on average.

DVD: Students do exercises based on a video or DVD - once a week on average.

Computers: Students do language exercise on computers including internet research in our Learning Centre once a week on average.

Teaching Aids: Teachers use realia, flash cards and OHPs as and when appropriate.

Zero Materials: Teachers will occasionally give lessons which do not use materials but stem from the language students produce in an initial activity set by the teacher.
