Sir Edward course accommodation and meals
The King's School campus offers comfortable student accommodation. All students attending this programme live within easy walk of the centre and homestays are not available.
Sir Edward course accommodation facts:
- Central accommodation in comfortable and secure buildings
- Studio wardens living on-campus, providing 24-hour supervision
- Shared bedrooms - usually between 2 and 8 students of the same gender from a mix of countries

King's School is a private boarding which teaches international students year round, so its staff are experienced in caring for children of all ages and nationalities whilst they are away from their families.
The residences are in 6 different buildings within the town all just 2-10 minutes walk from the centre facilities. There are up to 200 comfortable residential beds in good-sized rooms, with separate buildings for boys and girls.
All rooms are shared but they vary between the residential houses. Most are twins only, some are rooms for up to 6 students, and a few have large dorm rooms with up to 10 beds. All bathrooms and showers are shared.
Studio staff live in the residences, providing 24-hour care. The adult-to-student ratio is approximately 1:7 and the wardens are never far away if you have any questions or need help. They will also organise activities for you every evening.
Meals
All meals are served in the magnificent mediaeval beamed dining hall. There is a wide choice of hot and cold food and a vegetarian option for every meal. Packed lunches are provided on excursion days. At bedtimes, there is also a late snack (hot and cold milk drink, soft drinks, cookies and cake).
The food merits special mention: the last official school inspection judged the food to be "exceptional". Meals are nutritious, balanced and appetising. A full English cooked breakfast is available every day and a selection of hot dishes, in addition to the salad bar, is offered at lunch and supper time every day.
Evenings
Each evening students on the Sir Edward programme will have activities organised for them by the Studio team. Students may not go off campus at any time without Studio staff and must be in their residence by 22:00 at the latest.
Your free time
There are activites, classes or excursions every day and evening on this course and therefore, there is very little free time for students on the Sir Edward programme. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to walk into the town centre as part of the social programme. Common rooms are also available in the residences.
Laundry
Clothes laundry is provided as part of the programme. King's school staff will wash students' clothes at least once per week. Bed linen is provided at the residence and will be changed and washed once each week.
