English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Cambridge

Sir Edward course centre

English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Sir EdwardThere are few schools in the world that can boast a history like that of The King's School Ely. The school was founded over 1,000 years ago and King Edward, who died in 1066, was educated in the same magnificent buildings around Ely Cathedral which are still used by the school today.

These days the King's school is a world famous private boarding school for both British and international students. Studio Cambridge takes over responsibility for the entire school for 4 weeks every July. Although Ely is called a "city" because of its cathedral, it is in fact a small town built around the buildings of King's School, so all the residences, classrooms and facilities are in very easy walking distance from each other.

To allow the highest levels of security and supervision, all students live on-campus at the centre. Homestay accommodation is not available. Most of our teaching and administration staff also live on-campus. There is typically a ratio of one adult to 7 children living at the centre. It is an ideal environment for children of this age.

English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Sir Edwardin the city of ElyThe 'City' of Ely

Ely is a beautiful, peaceful town in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside, just north of Cambridge. Its magnificent cathedral, dominates the city and makes this one of the finest and most unspoilt mediaeval cities in Britain.

Although it is a city, Ely has a population of only 15,000 people, but it has all the facilities needed to meet the needs of this age group. The centre of the town has a traditional English ‘High Street' with a wide range of shops and a classic market square.

It is a perfect place for children aged 10 - 15 years. It is safe, and very English in character. The programme attracts children from many different countries each summer and has a delightful international atmosphere. Places are limited and early booking is, therefore, advised.
