Sir Laurence course accommodation and meals

The University campus offers very comfortable student accommodation. All students attending this programme live on-campus and homestays are not available.

Bedroom Accommodation on English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Cambridge The Sir Laurence course has 2 residences. The main residence at Lucy Cavendish itself has approximately 50 comfortable residential beds in good-sized modern rooms. Rooms are usually twins, but some single rooms are available. Bathrooms and showers are shared.

There are also a further 25 beds in a nearby University college residence within easy walking distance of the course centre, in a similar style. All residences are 10 to 20 minutes' walk from the centre of Cambridge.

Studio staff live in the residences, providing 24-hour care. The staff-to-student ratio is approximately 1:10 and the wardens are never far away if you have any questions or need help. They will also organise activities for you every evening.

Meals

Dining Hall for meals on English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Cambridge All meals are provided in the large dining room at Lucy Cavendish, which is built in traditional Cambridge University style. There is a wide choice of hot and cold food and a vegetarian option for every meal. Packed lunches are provided on excursion days.

Evenings

Each evening students on the Sir Laurence programme will have activities organised for them by the Studio wardens. Students can go out in the evenings but must return home by 23:00 at the latest. Students who fail to return on time will be spoken to by the wardens. This is an important rule for us and returning late is considered serious misconduct and action will be taken.

All our residences are situated in quiet residential areas, so students and staff are asked to respect the privacy of our neighbours and avoid excessive noise in the evenings.

Your free time

Activities in the garden on English Language and Activity Programmes at Studio Cambridge There are activites, classes or excursions every day and evening on this course and therefore, there is very little free time for students on the Sir Laurence programme. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to walk into the city centre as part of the social programme. There are always things to do in Cambridge and the Studio wardens are there to help and supervise in case of problems. Common Rooms are also available in most of our residences.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available on site. Students are required to do their own clothes laundry. One wash per week may be done free of charge. Bed linen is provided at the residence and will be changed and washed once each week.

Keys

Students will be given keys to their room and to the entrance to the residences. A small deposit of £10 will be taken when the keys are issued, in case the keys are lost.
