Leighton Park School is a private boarding school which teaches English students year round, so its staff are experienced in caring for children of all ages and catering for different tastes and requirements. The accommodation is provided in 5 different residential buildings on campus, all under 5 minutes walk from the centre facilities. There are up to 220 comfortable residential beds in good-sized rooms, with separate areas for boys and girls. All bathrooms and showers are shared.
Studio staff live in the residences, providing 24-hour care. The adult-to-student ratio is approximately 1:8 and the wardens are never far away if you have any questions or need help. They will also organise activities for you every evening.
Meals
All meals are served in Oakview, a large dining hall opened in 2004. This dining hall provides lovely panoramic views over the countryside. There is a wide choice of hot and cold food and a vegetarian option for every meal. Packed lunches are provided on excursion days. At bedtimes, there is also a late snack (hot and cold milk drink, soft drinks, cookies and cake).
Children can expect a good choice of food for each meal. A selection of hot dishes, in addition to the salad bar, is offered at breakfast, lunch and supper time every day. Meals are nutritious, balanced and appetising.
Evenings
Each evening students on the Sir Richard programme will have activities organised for them by the Studio team. Students may not go off campus at any time without Studio staff and must be in their residence by 22:00 at the latest.
Your free time
There are activities, classes or excursions every day and evening on this course and therefore, there is very little free time for students on the Sir Richard programme. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to go into Reading town centre as part of the social programme. Common rooms are also available in the residences, with pool tables and games areas.
Laundry
Clothes laundry is provided as part of the programme. Leighton Park school staff will wash students' clothes at least once per week. Bed linen is provided at the residence and will be changed and washed once each week.
