Your
Arrival
You should plan to arrive on the Sunday before your course begins.
We will meet you at your airport of arrival on that Sunday and
will bring you to your accommodation (unless you request us not
to provide this service).
Your
Studies
Studio
teachers are good teachers! They are enthusiastic, friendly
and understanding. They work hard to make your classes interesting
and enjoyable.
On
the first Monday morning of your stay, you will be asked to take
a short test so we can decide which is the best class for you.
You will study for 15 hours each week. Each class usually has two teachers
who share the teaching day. In each class there will be between
10 and 15 students.
Your
lessons cover all the language skills, but concentrate on listening
and speaking. They build on the English language teaching which
you may have already received and they bring the language alive!
Very soon you will find yourself thinking - even dreaming - in
English.
Project
work also plays an important role in class, to keep your lessons lively
and creative and to encourage teamwork between students of all
nationalities.
Each
week of the course, your classes will have a different theme so
that your language study is stimulating and interesting and you
learn more about Britain and the British people. Typical themes
include:
- Young
people in Britain
- Our
environment
- Healthy
mind, healthy body
- Money
and shopping
- Family
and friends
- The
media in Britain
- Music
and drama
Classes
are usually held in the mornings. However, depending on demand,
classes may be held in the afternoons, with activities in
the morning.
You will
improve your English language, but at the same time you will also
learn about English life and English culture, things that you
can only learn by coming to live and study here in England.
At
the end of your course you will take home your classwork and
project work, a personal progress report from your teachers, an
attendance certificate and, most importantly, some unforgettable
memories and great new friendships.
Your
Activities
An essential part of your course is our full programme of activities
and excursions (click leisure
time for further details).
Each
week you will receive a timetable of activities and every day
there will be a choice of things to see and do, so you can be
sure to find something of interest. All activities, unless otherwise
stated, are included in the course fees. Some of the most popular
are: football, party, t-shirt design and internet.
Your
Excursions
With Studio, you will visit the famous towns, cities and attractions
of England. Some of the most popular full-day destinations are
to London, Warwick Castle, and Oxford. The cost of all excursions
is included in our fees (click leisure
time for further details).
Your Departure
You should plan to leave on the Sunday immediately after your
course ends. We will take you back to your airport (unless you
request us not to provide this service).
